Below are some highlights from my work as an ecologist/biologist

Wild Turkey Habitat Ecology

M.Sc. Student | 2022-current

I'm currently studying roosting habitat ecology of a local population of Wild Turkeys (Meleagris gallopavo). Turkeys fly up to tree branches, where they sleep during the night. I'm interested to know what makes a good roost tree in the eyes of a turkey, and if things like weather have any influence on a turkey's choice of roost tree

Reptiles and Roads

Species at Risk Technician | 2020, 2021

While working with the Georgian Bay Biosphere, I assisted with a collaborative conservation program called Maamwi Anjiakiziwin. Within the program, I assisted with road ecology research and a turtle conservation program. This work helps to understand and mitigate negative effects of roads on local reptile populations.

Eastern Whip-poor-will Habitat Preferences

Field technician and co-author | 2019, 2020

In 2019, I worked as a field technician on a project focused on Eastern Whip-poor-wills. I later contributed to a paper in which we compared daytime and nighttime habitat preferences of the Eastern Whip-poor-will, arguably the coolest avian species at risk in Ontario. Many thanks to my co-authors for their contributions.
